Younger Optics Releases Adage Trilogy Short Corridor Progressive Lenses in Clear Trilogy Trivex

ECP's have been wondering – When my patient needs a progressive lens that fits into a shorter frame, which lens has an excellent and balanced combination of far, near, and intermediate zones?

ADAGE® is the answer! ADAGE, the short corridor progressive lenses with wide and balanced near and distance zones, are now available in clear Trilogy®, the impact resistant material with superior optical quality. Younger Optics is pleased to offer this Adage material extension in response to laboratories’ popular demand. Adage Trilogy lenses offer patients all the benefits of the Trilogy material in an ultra-short PAL that fits their favorite small frames.

The Adage lens has been designed to provide the wearer with an excellent and balanced combination of far, near, and intermediate zones. Compared to leading short corridor progressives, the Adage lens offers a broader clear area. This helps patients get a focused view, wherever they are looking.

For more information, see youngeroptics.com/adage

The Trilogy material offers impact resistance, light weight, and low chromatic aberration when compared to poly. It is also a great material for rimless frames because it resists cracking at the mount.

Details about Adage Trilogy Lenses:

• 160° of viewing freedom in the distance zone

• Minimum fitting height of 13mm (great for smaller frames)

• Very wide near zone for a short design

• Generous corridor width for a clear view in all areas

• 90% of add is reached at only 11mm below pupil

• An effective blank size of 76mm

• No secondary calculations necessary for use

• Trilogy material is impact resistant and lightweight

• Trilogy material has less chromatic aberration than poly

• Trilogy material is perfect for rimless frames, because it resists cracking at the drill mount

For over 50 years, Younger has strived to be the easiest company to do business with. Younger Optics And Transitions Optical Offer Free Dispensing Tool: “More Choices: A Guide to Everyday and Sunwear Lenses”

No one pair of lenses can provide a patient with all of the essential vision care they need.  To help get this message out to the eyecare community, Younger Optics and Transitions Optical have teamed up to create More Choices: A Guide To Everyday and Sunwear Lenses, a newly designed training and sales tool that introduces and supports the message of essential everyday and sunwear lenses as part of a patient’s total vision solution. This booklet can be used to help ECPs and their patients better understand that everyday lenses and sunwear lenses are complementary, not competing products.

The booklet introduces and differentiates three essential everyday lenses:

    ·         Transitions® lenses

    ·         Transitions® XTRActive™ lenses

    ·         Transitions® Vantage™ lenses

    …and two essential sunwear lenses:

    ·         Drivewear® polarized adaptive sunwear lenses

    ·         NuPolar® polarized lenses.

The reader can find more information on each lens product via easy-access tabs. Each product tab provides answers to questions such as: Who is best-suited for this lens? Why would a patient want this product? What does it look like when a patient looks through the lenses? What does the patient look like with the lenses on? What is blinding glare? Which lenses reduce or block blinding glare?

The More Choices booklet is also helpful in getting patients to understand the differences between lens products that are often perceived as similar, and in initiating dialogue to find which lenses are right for them.  For example:

    ·      Drivewear lenses vs. NuPolar lenses – They are both polarized but one is photochromic, too.  Does your patient spend a lot of time outdoors?  Driving during daylight hours?

    ·      Original Transitions lenses vs. Transitions XTRActive lenses – Both types of Transitions lenses adapt to changing light outdoors, but one has a slight tint indoors and is darker in sunlight. Which Transitions lens is better suited to your patient's activities?

    ·      Transitions Vantage everyday lenses vs. Drivewear sunlenses –  Which lens can be worn indoors and at night? Which lens blocks blinding glare behind the windshield? This booklet helps your patient understand the crucial differences.

    ·      Transitions everyday lenses vs. polarized sunlenses – Yes, Transitions everyday lenses adapt to changing light outdoors, but they are not a sunglass replacement. How can polarized sunwear lenses complement Transitions everyday lenses to provide your patient with the best vision solution?

The More Choices booklets are available to eyecare professionals at no charge through your area Younger Optics representative.

    Also available:

    More Choices Patient Brochures

    More Choices Dispensing Mat

    More Choices Pocket Card

ECPs may visit youngeroptics.com/marketing to view the pieces and to order.

Or you may also request copies by emailing the name of the eyecare practice, address and phone number to marketing@youngeroptics.com

Younger Optics has just released Transitions® Vantage™ single vision lenses in Trilogy®, Younger’s award-winning lightweight lens material.

Transitions Vantage lenses, the latest addition to Transitions’ family of everyday adaptive eyewear lenses, feature variable polarization in bright sunlight. Compared to other everyday lenses, Transitions Vantage lenses offer crisper vision outdoors.

Trilogy lenses, made with the revolutionary Trivex™ material by PPG Industries, offer the best combination of being thin and light, while also offering excellent optics, impact resistance, and chemical resistance. Younger Optics receives 2 OLA Awards of Excellence in 2011

Younger Optics received two OLA Awards of Excellence this year at the annual OLA Awards of Excellence meeting on September 22nd in Las Vegas, NV. This marks the OLA Awards of Excellence 25th anniversary. During these 25 years, Younger Optics has received a total of 24 Awards of Excellence.

One of the awards presented to Younger Optics this year was in the Best in Lens Design category for the ADAGE® Progressive Lens. This is Younger’s third award in this category.

ADAGE® is an ultra-short progressive lens design for smaller aesthetic frames, specially engineered to offer a superior, balanced combination of far, intermediate, and near fields of view. A fitting height of only 13mm allows new progressive wearers to keep their favorite frames without losing optical performance. A near zone that is wider than other short designs and an ultra-wide distance region make this progressive a significant advancement in the field of short progressive lenses.

Progressive lens wearers enjoy the benefit of these lenses’ big functional zones with excellent and stable optical properties. These special features allow wearers to maintain a more natural eye position for every viewing distance. For more information on ADAGE® Progressive lenses, visit www.youngeroptics.com/adage.

Younger Optics also won an Award of Excellence in the Best in Lens Materials category for NuPolar® 1.67 High Index. This is Younger Optics’ sixth Award of Excellence in this category. Previous materials that won this award include NuPolar® Trilogy® Visual Armor® in 2010, Drivewear® in Polycarbonate in 2008, Drivewear® Activated by Transitions® in 2007, NuPolar® Polycarbonate in 2004, and Trilogy® in 2002. Younger Optics Releases NuPolar® Color Wheel

Eyecare professionals now have a new way to demonstrate the benefits of NuPolar® polarized lenses to their patients. Younger Optics introduces the NuPolar Color Wheel, a new marketing piece now available to dispensaries and labs that support NuPolar polarized lenses.

How it works: As a patient holds the NuPolar Color Wheel up to their eye and looks through the polarized film, they will be able to see how glare is removed from their environment. In addition, the patient can rotate an inner wheel to switch the color of the film between the five different NuPolar colors: Gray 1 (tintable), Gray 3, Brown, Copper, and Green-15®. The benefits of each color choice are listed to help patients determine the NuPolar color that will work best for them.
The NuPolar Color Wheel is free-standing, designed to sit conveniently upon any optical shop dispensing table or frame board. This new marketing device effectively demonstrates the most important attribute of NuPolar polarized lenses – blocking blinding glare – and will help make “selling second pairs” much easier. The Color Wheel can work in conjunction with the NuPolar Glare Demonstrator already in use at many NuPolar dispensaries. Call your Younger Optics Lens Consultant to order this “self selling” marketing tool. NuPolar lenses are the world’s most trusted polarized Rx lens, featuring superb adhesion characteristics (ensuring no delamination or separation), consistent true curve control (perfect for today’s digitally processed free-form requirements), and high polarization efficiency. NuPolar lenses have been unrivaled in color uniformity and color consistency.

Transitions® VI finished lenses with “Super Hydrophobic” AR coating now available in hard resin

    (TORRANCE, CA — June 2009)
Younger Optics has added hard resin to their new Transitions® VI finished lens line; Poly was introduced earlier this year. Both materials offer a “Super Hydrophobic” AR coating and are available in single vision gray and brown colors. The response from Laboratories has been very positive to these lenses with a high quality AR coating that can outperform many of the more costly coatings now on the market.

This AR’s hydrophobic properties allow water droplets to easily run off the surface of the lens without stains or streaks. These hydrophobic properties also help to remove smudges, dust, dirt and fingerprints, making the lenses easy to clean and maintain. Tests have shown this advanced coating is very durable, to resist scratching and peeling throughout the life of the lens.
The Super Hydrophobic AR on these finished lenses provides high transmission, to let more light through the lens and allow the wearer to see clearer, sharper images with the benefits of Transitions® VI Photochromic Technology. At the same time, the Super Hydrophobic AR prevents annoying reflections from coming off the wearer’s lenses, and has a pleasing, uniform reflected color.

Transitions® VI finished lenses with “Super Hydrophobic” AR coating are available now in hard resin and polycarbonate from Younger Optics.
Younger Optics is recognized as the world leader in prescription polarized lenses with its NuPolar® brand. Younger Optics is teaming with Transitions Optical, Inc. to present seminars throughout the United States in a 21-city tour that will educate eyecare professionals about the benefits of Drivewear® lenses Activated by Transitions® and how they can increase sun lens sales.

The national Drivewear Seminar Tour kicked off February 24 in Arcadia, CA, and will end on May 5 in Homestead, PA. Each seminar begins with dinner and registration, followed by “The Glaring Truth”, a 20-minute presentation by Transitions Optical, which explores the different types of glare and the best eyewear solutions to address each one. Then Younger Optics will present a one-hour, ABO-approved seminar entitled “Drivewear, Accelerating Your Sun Lens Business”.
“Right now, second pair sales are more important than ever,” said David Rips, President, Younger Optics. “By simply offering sunwear as a second pair to every customer, ECP’s can literally double the size of their practice. Virtually every patient drives and can benefit from Drivewear. The driving task is influenced by many factors, including glare, and understanding how patients can benefit from Drivewear lenses is vital. We’re excited to partner with Transitions to bring this information to the industry while offering eyecare professionals tools to educate their patients and build their businesses.” As a special recognition for participation in the tour, Younger will provide each attendee with a certificate of completion, a complimentary voucher for a trial pair of Drivewear® lenses and a chance to win exciting prizes.

(TORRANCE, CA — March 2009)  NuPolar, the world’s most popular polarized RX lens, now brings the quality and features you have come to expect from NuPolar to the 1.67 market.

“The eyecare industry is aware of the many benefits of polarized lenses – that they remove glare and enhance visual acuity - but it’s also important to remember,” stresses David Rips, President and CEO of Younger Optics, “that not all polarized lenses are manufactured the same.  While other polarized lenses vary in quality and performance, NuPolar consistently outperforms other products in the marketplace.”

NuPolar 1.67 lenses are manufactured MR-10™ resin, a high performance material with good processing and stability characteristics.  NuPolar 1.67 is offered in five base curves with precise film placement to allow for minimum thickness over a wide Rx range, and is backed by all applicable NuPolar warranties.
NuPolar 1.67 lenses are manufactured with all the features that make NuPolar unique: excellent heat stability (even when subjected to the elevated temperatures encountered during many hard coating and A/R coating processes), superb adhesion characteristics ensuring the lenses will not delaminate or separate, consistent true curve control (perfect for today’s digitally processed free-form requirements), and high polarization efficiency.  NuPolar’s quality standards never allow your desired gray or brown colors to look too green or too blue, and NuPolar lenses are unrivaled in color uniformity, assuring consistent color matching.

New wallcharts and technical specification binders reflect increased availability and new product lines

    (TORRANCE, CA — November 2008)
Younger Optics has recently made product reference easier and more convenient for their customers with the introduction of two documents – Updated Younger Optics Wallcharts and New Technical Specification binders. The updated wallchart reflects product lines that have grown considerably to include the new Image Wrap™ lens, NuPolar® copper and Green-15®, 1.67 High Index lenses, Flat Top 28 Trilogy® Transitions® lenses, Transitions® 1.60 High Index lenses, and odd base curve ranges throughout several product lines.
There’s even an entire new category of lens – Drivewear® lenses Activated by Transitions® (www.drivewearlens.com)! The wallchart, measuring 33.5 inches by 28 inches, is designed to be both functional and graphically appealing. The new technical specifications binder contains loose-leaf pages that can be removed and replaced when new products become available, and is large enough to accommodate additional literature and product materials. Like the wallchart, it is designed to be visually appealing as well as an easy and convenient reference point for all of Younger’s products. Younger Optics expands Drivewear® line with Polycarbonate Image® progressive lenses

    (TORRANCE, CA — September 2008)
Younger Optics has once again expanded the availability of their innovative line of sunlenses by introducing Drivewear® IMAGE® progressives in polycarbonate. “Without a doubt, since we released Drivewear lenses, the two biggest product requests have been for polycarbonate and for a progressive. In the past year, we’ve managed to fulfill both those requests, with Drivewear polycarbonate Single Vision and the Image lens in Hard Resin. Now, we’re bringing the two together with the new Polycarbonate Drivewear Image progressive,” said David Rips, President and CEO of Younger Optics. The award-winning IMAGE progressive has been rated favorably among recent independent studies. This is in part because IMAGE boasts one of the widest distortion free distance zones in the industry, a key advantage for the driving task. From the dashboard to the road ahead, IMAGE provides excellent viewing at near, far and intermediate distances, and can accommodate Rx ranges of -9D to +7D, with 1.00 – 3.00 add powers. And now, Drivewear progressive wearers can take advantage of the high impact resistance and higher index polycarbonate offers.
Drivewear lenses uniquely combine two of the most advanced technologies found in the eyeglass industry today: Transitions™ Photochromic Technology and NuPolar® polarization. Designed specifically to meet the unique visual demands of the driving task, Drivewear Activated by Transitions® is the first polarized photochromic lens to darken behind the windshield of a car which allows Drivewear lenses to change color based on current driving conditions in order to enhance the driver’s vision. In addition, Drivewear lenses are polarized to block blinding glare, another essential attribute when driving a car. For more information and technical details, visit www.drivewearlens.com. Younger Optics is recognized as the world leader in prescription polarized lenses with its NuPolar® brand.
